Timeline

RETO started up in 2013, under the name “Shades”, and we’ve been on an epic ride ever since. From our beginnings as a student body run by students from various institutions to launching many programs for the benefits of students, we’ve tried to stay true to our core beliefs—Reach, Engage and Transform the Outreach—and to deliver an exceptional and sustainable experience for our community and members. We owe a huge thanks to our community for joining us on this awesome journey, and we hope that you’ll continue to be a part of our story.

    Global Goals

    By 'reaching out' with the help of computers, ‪#‎RETO‬‬ is contributing to‪ Global Goals‬‬ No.10 "Reduced Inequality" by rendering equal access to information and quality education to children in rural areas of Sindh.

    1st Computer Lab

    Our Computer first lab based on the concept of Self-Learning Initiative started operations in Tando Jam.

    E-Learning Workshop

    Invited by the Sargodhian Spirit Trust Public School Rashidabad, RETO’s Shades alumni team conducted the workshop on E-learning and Scholarships Accessibility, addressing the A-level students and telling them about the nature and scope of various academic and professional choices.

    Pakistan’s Independence Day

    14th August: RETO Foundation celebrated 14th August, Pakistan’s Independence Day, with the closing ceremony of Smart Study Program. Chief Guest, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Agriculture University. distributed certificates and shields to among SSP and Shades students.

    Introduction of Shades Students Clubs

    We launched four clubs namely, Shades Computer Science Club, Shades Arts Club, Shades Literary Club, Shades and Science Club.

    RETO Heatwave drive

    RETO's heatwave drive lasted for two days in Karachi in The Indus Hospital & Jinnah Hospital Karachi from 24th to 25th June, 2015 under the guidance of our Head Technology, Syed Mohsin.

    Smart Study Program

    More than four hundred students applied for the program from various areas including Tando Jam, Tando Qaiser, Aabri, Sawn Khan Gopang, Moosa Khatyan, and Hyderabad. Top 50 students were invited to study in RETO’s 3rd Smart Study Program 2015.

    Shades Election Ceremony

    RETO conducted the first election ceremony and congratulate the teams for triggering the largest online voting in interior Sindh with votes exceeding 5500.

    Shades Sports Olympiad 2014

    RETO, with its student led initiative, Shades, launched the largest three-day Sports event with thirty competitions inviting schools and students from 9 cities. The audience turnout was beyond 3000 including 1450 students participation.

  • Aao Parhao Campaign in Interior Sindh

    RETO in collaboration with Express Media Group initiated the Aao Parhao campaign with the largest turnout in this nationwide campaign and conducted the largest Teacher Award Ceremony at Sindh Agriculture University Tando Jam.

    Origin of RETO

    Shades of Pakistan Organized

    Under the banner of our student-led initiative, Shades, successfully organized the largest Independence Day celebration with audience exceeding 2000. It was an open-end event in the market and arranged by the students of Shades.

    A group of top 30 students were shortlisted to get trained under accomplished individuals from diverse fields.

    Shades Membership Drive

    Soon after our first event, we were welcomed by native students of the town and received over 100 applications within a week. Within first month, we became the largest student union with membership exceeding hundred.

  • Shades of Careers

    Largest career counseling seminar for the students of Tando Jam was organized. Turnout was more than 400 students. Professional talks about various career paths including business, social sciences, engineering, medical, defense forces, public service commission, accountancy degrees, law and arts, were arranged
