Film Festival

Organised International Film Festival in Tandojam. For the very first time produced a 3 day festival for children youth and families in the region of Tando Jam. Audience came from surrounding areas of Tando Allah Yar as well to experience the festival. It was the first time ever an international film festival especially for children and youth. A total of 10 shows featuring 77 films from 24 countries were showcased. The program was designed for all age groups from 4 to 18 years with short films, live action, animated, feature and documentaries. There was a total attendance of nearly 2,100 children and young students, teachers and families.

Shades Election Campaign 2016 via International Children Film Festival Sindh

Shades Pakistan, being the flagship program of RETO Foundation, launched the election campaign of its student council for 2015-16 taking arts and cinema as the theme for the campaign. With the support of The Little Art, RETO is pleased to organize the largest and first-ever International Children Film Festival in the interiors of Sindh on 2nd and 3rd February 2016. An exceedingly 2500 children who have never been to any cinema before shall attend the festival to experience the screening of 77 art films from 26 countries. Let us inculcate the values of pluralism, diversity and tolerance for which Sindh is known for centuries.

A Day with RETO Foundation

Aatir Sohail, working at SOC Films on a documentary titled "A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness", which has been nominated for Oscars in 2016, visited Tando Jam to celebrate 14th August and spent a day with RETO Foundation for his documentary project "Travel for Compassion" to be submitted at World Nomads Scholarship Entry. The short video entails the introduction of RETO Foundation via interview of its co-founder, Shahzad Akbar, who is a LUMS graduate and a CSS qualified officer.

RETO’s Smart Study Program (SSP) Farewell 2015

RETO Foundation, with the help of its student-led initiative, Shades Pakistan, has conducted Smart Study Program in interior Sindh by selecting matriculation and intermediate level students to get one-month academic training under the accomplished students and professionals of renowned institutions of Pakistan and abroad. With the aim of making opportunities visible for the youth in Pakistan, RETO conducts academic sessions on scholarships, university and degree selection, English communication skills, creative writing, SOPs, ISSB, and prepare SSP students for the entrance test of various universities and professions.

RETO’s 14th August Celebration - Launching SLI & Closing SSP 2015

With the launching ceremony of Self Learning Initiative (SLI) and closing ceremony of Smart Study Program (SSP), #RETO celebrates the Independence Day with dance, mime and music sessions performed by Shades student members. Organizations like #SindhEducationFoundation and #AlifAilaan appreciated the event with media coverage by #SindhTV. Many guests and politicians delivered motivational speeches along with the Vice Chancellor of SAU Tando Jam as Chief Guest of the event.
