See Shades with Shades – Performance Meter

Shades is a student run organization that primarily functions to better the student community of Tando Jam in every aspect. The organization was born in May 2013 as a response to student need for a platform that guides career choices and provides requisite information for academic and professional development.

Performance of this energetic force has gone through several stages. The journey began with the program named 'Shades of Careers' with 400 participants including students, parents and teachers. The event was solely organized by the pioneers of Shades with the purpose of introducing the community to academic and career possibilities. This was the beginning of connecting the outreach with the globally connected world.

The idea of Shades was well received by Tando Jam and with that arose the demand and support for actionable change. The “Smart Study Program” was launched as a result. It was aimed to coach and guide selected-few students, assisting them in studying conceptually, critically and smartly. This free of cost initiative was carefully designed and has reaped very positive outcomes. Some students who started as participants later served as faculty hence symbolizing the benefits of the ripple effect. A special thanks goes to Mr. Asif Munawar (Committed Shades Member) who convened and spearheaded the idea and implementation of this program.

RETO believes that education is an all-encompassing phenomenon whereby engagement with the community at large should go hand in hand with investment in youth. Therefore Shades after its successful pilot academic intervention organized a community event in sync with the celebration of country's independence – on 14th August 2013.

For the last one and half year, RETO’s Shades and Smart Study Program have been able to make remarkable difference in the lives of many of its participants and others. We hope to continue our pursuit of making positive change through education, technology and sports. Our aim is to share our dream of reaching, engaging and transforming through outreach.
